About Gettysburg
The battle of Gettysburg began in July of 1863. The Union forces defeated the confederates, over the course of three days, in what would become one of the Civil Wars most significant battles.
Gettysburg Today
Gettysburg sits approximately 38 miles southwest of Pennsylvania’s capitol Harrisburg. Though the town is relatively quiet, it is still filled with visitors from all around the world. Stone walls and wooden fences still serve as a reminder of the bloody battle which was a pivotal turning point in the Civil War.
